According to authorities, KSP Post 16 in Henderson says victims report receiving unsolicited texts that claim to be a funeral home representative demanding payment for services. Funeral homes do not ask for payments through text messages, KSP says. Report suspicious messages to local law enforcement and the Office of Kentucky Attorney General – Consumer Protection (502) 696-5389 or 888-432- 9257. KSP urge residents to share this information with family, friends and especially older community members who may be more vulnerable to such schemes.
