The Marshall Municipal Utilities Board of Public Works approved motion to request the Marshall City Council to execute a Land Use MOU between MMU and the Missouri Electric Commission (MEC). As work continues on the Marshall Energy Center project, MEC will need additional storage for project materials. MMU has proposed allowing MEC to utilize the old Crescent Electric property and a portion of the old coal yard for this purpose. The board approved a motion to submit this request to the city council, which is next scheduled to meet on Tuesday, October 7. The board is also seeking council approval to authorize utility easements to MEC for nearby properties.
