Orville Etoria, a Jamaican national who had been detained in the Kingdom of Eswatini (formerly Swaziland), was repatriated to the island on Monday with support from the International Organization for Migration. The return follows coordinated diplomatic efforts led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, with key involvement from Jamaica’s High Commission in Pretoria, which is accredited to Eswatini. The Ministry confirmed that Orville Etoria’s return was managed in close collaboration with the Government of Eswatini and supported by the IOM. “We trust the Jamaican public will respect Mr Etoria’s wish for a quiet return,” said the Minister. The Ministry is reminding Jamaicans that if they experience challenges while overseas, they should contact the nearest Jamaican diplomatic mission or reach out via consular@mfaft.gov.jm#Jamaica #Diaspora #Repatriation #GlobalJamaica #KaminaJohnsonSmith #IOM #Eswatini #JamaicansAbroad #CommunityFirst
