The city of Auburn will receive $300,000 in state funding to purchase five new emergency response vehicles, The Citizen reports. The grants come from the CREST program and were secured with help from state Sen. Rachel May. The funds will cover most of the cost for three new police patrol cars and two fire command vehicles, replacing aging, high-mileage units. The city will cover the remaining costs from department budgets. Sign up for our Morning Edition to start your day.
