There has now been an update on the situation, with the site back open and police revealing the cause to be a hoax threat. The college confirmed at 5.15pm that the site had reopened and students were being allowed to leave, with buses departing one at a time. A spokesperson for Cirencester College said: "The site is now reopen, and buses are leaving shortly to get students home." A spokesperson for Gloucestershire police said: "We were called shortly before 4.15pm today (Wednesday) after Cirencester College initiated a lockdown due to a threat. Students travel from a wide catchment area to attend the college, with many coming from Stroud and Swindon.
