Gleeson Land, which said it is bringing forward an outline planning application for the homes, ran a consultation on its proposals in the summer. However, there has been substantial pushback on the plans - with a recent parish council meeting that covered the proposals attracting some 40 members of the public. The action group aims to increase community awareness of Gleeson Land’s plans and help the community understand some of the key material issues and planning considerations. A meeting of Lea, Garsdon & Cleverton Parish Council in mid-July which explored the plans saw some 90 minutes of open discussion from attendees. A response to the plans said the development would increase reliance on cars, with alternative modes of travel being inconvenient or impractical.
