Dr Roz Savage, MP for the South Cotswolds, recently visited Lechlade to witness a ground breaking community project that's making the Fairford and Lechlade area one of the best-served in the UK for public access defibrillators. The visit highlights a collaborative effort by several local organisations to install life-saving defibrillators powered by street lamps. This project ensures these vital devices are sited on residential estates, providing the full coverage required to save lives. Dr Savage met with representatives from Lechlade & District Lions, Community First Responders, South Western Ambulance Service (SWAS), and Gloucestershire Street Lighting (GSL) to learn about the initiative, which includes the installation of four new units in Fairford and Lechlade. "It's inspiring to see how this collaboration has led to such a vital and practical solution for community safety," said Dr Savage.
