Cirencester Town Council’s draft Cirencester Green Spaces Strategy from September 2025 to September 2041 - considered for approval at the council’s meeting on Tuesday, September 9 - said that 23 per cent of properties in Cirencester Central lack a garden. This is nearly double the national average, according to the strategy, which said that in Great Britain, 12 per cent of households have no access to a private or shared garden. In Cirencester South, seven per cent lack a garden, while in Cirencester East & Stratton, the figure is three per cent, according to the strategy. The Cirencester Green Spaces Strategy was approved at the meeting subject to conditions.
