Gujrat city will finally receive its share of Punjab’s electric bus project by December 2025, as officials confirmed the launch timeline under the second phase of the initiative. However, Gujrat along with Sialkot, Hafizabad, and Narowal was initially left out but will now get 28 buses by the end of 2025. Punjab’s electro bus service aims to modernize public transport with eco-friendly vehicles. For Gujrat, proposed routes include Gujrat to Lalamusa, Jalalpur Jattan, Mungowal, and Daulat Nagar, with plans to expand further. Overall, 206 e-buses will be provided across the Gujranwala and Gujrat regions, with Gujranwala set to receive 88 buses, Sialkot 45, Gujrat 28, Hafizabad 16, Mandi Bahauddin 12, Narowal 7, and Wazirabad 7.
