DAR ES SALAAM: Muhimbili National Hospital – Mloganzila in collaboration with the MediAfric Tanzania Institute, has started a special camp to break stones in the urinary tract using modern technology without the patient undergoing surgery. According to the Specialist Urologist, Dr Hamis Isaka, the five-day camp that began on September 29 will climax on October 3rd,2025, when more than 12 patients will be served. “The implementation of these services to remove stones from the urinary tract without surgery is a major step as it demonstrates how the Government has made investments aimed at reducing inconvenience and costs for citizens by ensuring that these services are available in public hospitals in the country, including Mloganzila,” said Dr Isaka. These services are kidney transplants by harvesting kidneys from donors using small incisions, hip and knee transplants, liver transplants, weight loss using special balloons, and small incision surgery.
