US deportee deal does not mean support for Trump’s policy – GhanaUS deportee deal does not mean support for Trump’s policy – GhanaGHANA: Ghana’s decision to accept West African migrants deported from the US was driven by humanitarian concerns, not support for US immigration policy, the foreign minister has said.
He said that Ghana has not received and does not seek any financial compensation or material benefit.
President John Dramani Mahama announced last week that Ghana agreed to admit an unspecified number of deportees at Washington’s request.

Similar arrangements have been made with Uganda, South Sudan, Eswatini, and Rwanda, but the terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
