Article content“Blues, to me, is still an endangered species, especially in the American political climate currently, where stuff is changing depending on who is in charge,” he says. “I think there are lots of reasons for me to continue to do concerts and teach what I can about the blues. I say that it needs attention and care to thrive. There are always going to be these recordings that anybody can find on the Internet. But for blues music to really be alive, that to me means people continuing to sing these songs – their own interpretations – but they need to continue singing them live in front of human beings.
