MEHTARLAM (Pajhwok): A 13-year-long feud between two families in eastern Laghman province has ended through the mediation of local officials, tribal elders and religious scholars. The conflict, which took place in the Alishang district and resulted in casualties on both sides, came to an end on Friday. According to a statement from the Laghman governor’s office, the feud began 13 years ago between the families of Haji Janat Gul and Mullah Noorkhail in the Shakai village of Alishang. Over the course of the feud, nine people from both families were killed and three others injured, the statement said. The reconciliation was achieved through the efforts of local authorities, tribal elders and religious scholars.
