ISLA VISTA, Calif. – The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office identified the victim who fell off of a cliff in Isla Vista and died on Friday night. Chasen Alibrando, 25 of Santa Monica, fell from a cliff on the 6600 block of Del Playa Drive in Isla Vista around 11:30 p.m. on Friday, according to sheriff's spokeswoman Raquel Zick. Ethan Bertrand of the Isla Vista Community Services District reacted by saying, "All of us in Isla Vista are devastated to learn about the passing of a UCSB alum this past weekend. Beth Krom of Irvine is the mother of a student who fell to his death before graduation in 2009. She has kept count and kept in touch with other parents who lost children in cliff falls.
