Town of Bassendean councillor Tallan Ames has achieved a milestone in local government training that only one other councillor in the history of the town has achieved before. Cr Ames has completed the Diploma of Local Government for Elected Members and was formally awarded the diploma at the WALGA Local Government Convention by WALGA president Karen Chappel. The diploma is a nationally recognised 12-month program and is the highest possible qualification available for elected members through WALGA training. Town of Bassendean CEO Cameron Woods congratulated Cr Ames. The Bassendean community is all the better for having such a committed and capable individual on council,” he said.
