During the gram sabha held Tuesday, around 70–75 residents submitted a resolution to Satya Sai Kartik, Additional Superintendent of Police, Aheri (Pranhita), and handed over one ‘Bharmar’ rifle to the police, showing their support in the fight against Maoist activities.
(Special Arrangement)Residents of Markanar, a village in Bhamragad taluka of Gadchiroli, have unanimously passed a resolution to ban Maoists, a practice known locally as “gaonbandi”.
The decision is said to have stemmed from civic development, including the launch of a bus service connecting Markanar and Aheri on July 16.
