Ahead of monsoon, the BMC had dug up a mammoth stretch of 525 km of Mumbai’s roads which was 25 per cent of total road length of 2,050 km. In total, the BMC has earmarked a budget of Rs 17,733 crore to concretise 700 km of roads in Mumbai. According to civic officials, starting October, the BMC will start concreting as many as 1,350 roads having a total length of 365.44 km. In the first category they will be taking up 574 roads having a total length of 156.74 km.
