Erie police were searching for a suspect Sept. 30 after a woman reported being raped by a person who broke into her home early that morning. The attack was reported Sept. 30 at 2:24 a.m. at a residence in the 1100 block of East 24th Street, according to the Erie Bureau of Police. Additional officers were sent to the residence as the victim reported hiding in the bathroom and not able to exit, Deputy Chief Rick Lorah said. Officers found the rear door of the residence sightly ajar, and when they went inside and announced their presence they heard a woman screaming upstairs, Lorah said.
