Lawas police chief DSP Liong Tindan said the suspects, aged 33, 35, and 42, were rounded up at a hotel on Monday during a raid by the district Commercial Crime Investigation Division. “The suspects are suspected of being part of a syndicate managing mule bank accounts and recruiting people to open such accounts. Liong said during the arrest, police seized eight bank cards belonging to different persons, as well as mobile phones and RM1,041 in cash. He warned the public against allowing others to use their names to open bank accounts, as they would be held liable if the accounts are used in scam cases.
