An independent, eight-member committee has been established to conduct a comprehensive review of the fatal April 1 gas pipeline explosion in Putra Heights, Selangor. "We value their feedback and hope the findings will give closure to all parties involved," Najwan told reporters following the committee's launch at the Selangor state secretariat yesterday. The massive explosion caused widespread devastation, destroying 81 homes, partially damaging another 81, and leaving 57 homes severely damaged. Initial reports suggested the inferno may have been triggered by stress on the pipeline, potentially caused by soft soil beneath the structure. Najwan stated that the committee is expected to deliver a full report within two months for presentation to the state government.
