MILWAUKEE – Today, Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley issued the following statement after the federal government shut down at midnight. Today, the President and members of Congress shut down the federal government, throwing into jeopardy the federal funding that supports residents and families in Milwaukee County and across Wisconsin. “Milwaukee County remains committed to becoming the healthiest county in Wisconsin, but as I said in my budget address yesterday, we cannot do it alone. We simply have limited options to address the gaps that a loss of federal funding will create. Milwaukee County families should not be casualties of petty political fights and lose the health care they deserve.”
