Pleasant, Utah, though he left school early to work as a sheep herder and later in the oil fields. In the summer of 1956, Veldon met his sweetheart, Ila Lockwood, and they married Dec. 14, 1956. In 2017 they returned to Tooele County to be close to their family. Tex loved playing his guitar and having sing-a-longs with family and friends, fishing the Green River, vacations in Yellowstone, riding his mule Belle, and chocolate cake. On Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025, there will be a visitation for family and friends from 6 to 8 p.m., at Tate Mortuary, 110 S. Main St., Tooele, Utah.
