Farther north in California, the Dodgers hosted the Reds in their first game of their Wild Card round duel. This game was all L.A., as they tacked on eight runs before Cincinnati cracked the scoreboard in the top of the seventh. Cincinnati scored late in the game, but ultimately fell 10–5. With a win today, the Dodgers can advance to the next round of the playoffs where they would face the Philadelphia Phillies.
