Provincial police had to close two lanes westbound on Highway 417 for an oil spill. The incident was reported to police just before 11:00 a.m. As a result of the oil spilled along the highway, officers had to close lanes near Bronson Avenue, sending traffic through the area crawling. “This is causing significant delays. We are waiting on the roads department to come clean up the spill,” Constable Michael Fathi, with Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), said in a video posted to social media. He said a few bottles of oil were spilled across the road, “making it very dangerous for traffic to drive through.”Officials are asking anyone who saw the vehicle spill the oil along the roadway to contact police with information.
