Fire service verdict after Waterloo Road 'chemical smell'Specialists were brought inView Image Firefighters on Waterloo RoadFirefighters found 'nothing hazardous' after three engines and a specialist team were sent to one of the city's busiest roads.
The alarm was sounded at a building on Waterloo Road in Burslem at 2.20pm yesterday.
Three fire engines were seen lined up as Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service say they'd been called to 'reports of a suspected chemical-based smell in the area'.
Due to the nature of the incident a specialist detection team were also sent in with crews spending almost three hours at the scene.
A spokeswoman said: "The detection, identification and monitoring team attended the property on Waterloo Road in Burslem and carried out further checks.
