A former N.W.T teacher and coach who was convicted of sexual assault and exploitation of two teenagers was granted release from prison pending an appeal. During the trial, three Crown witnesses provided their own observations on the victim's demeanours when the crime took place. In the appeal, Barry argues that the jury should have been provided with more thorough and accurate instructions on how to deal with such evidence. Pending his appeal, Barry has requested release from prison, which was granted. The Crown agreed that the release plan adequately addresses concerns related to Barry's release.
