WOODSTOCK, N.Y. — Actress Uma Thurman, known for her roles in films such as “Kill Bill” and “Pulp Fiction,” has joined the Woodstock Film Festival’s board of directors, the festival announced. Thurman, who has attended the festival before, lived for a time in Woodstock with her then-husband, actor Ethan Hawke, and their two children. The festival also announced its opening and closing night films. The opening night film will be “The Testament of Ann Lee” starring Ulster County resident Amanda Seyfried, which examines the life and beliefs of Ann Lee, one of pre-Revolutionary America’s most influential religious figures. The closing night film is Gus Van Sant’s true crime film “Dead Man’s Wire,” recounting the true story of the 1977 kidnapping that turned aspiring Indianapolis entrepreneur Tony Kiritsis into an eccentric outlaw folk hero.
