Zohran Mamdani joins Starbucks workers picketing for better pay in NYCLOWER MANHATTAN (WABC) -- Over a dozen Starbucks workers raised their voices and picketed outside a store in Lower Manhattan on Wednesday morning. The baristas were joined by mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani as they highlighted their demands for fair contracts. Several Starbucks workers were fired, bringing attention to their demands calling for better wages, improved staffing and job protections. It comes on the heels of the store closings, layoffs and as some workers have tried to unionize. Mamdani said New Yorkers can expect him to stand on more picket lines.
