The Carson City Fire Department shared the following photos from the recent week-long training at the site of the old Children’s Cottages. In a social media post, CCFD shared the following:As you may know, Carson City Fire Department hosted nearby agencies and performed live burn trainings of the Children’s Cottages. The purpose of this training activity was to observe fire progression, behavior, and reading smoke as conditions changed. This was a great opportunity as most live fire training is focused on extinguishing the fire, which takes 100% of the focus. Comments that were made between agencies while watching the fire were collaborative and encouraged an open dialogue on common tactics and strategies.
