New Forest District Council is studying an application relating to a property at the junction of Long Lane and Waltons Avenue in Holbury. The building comprises a restaurant/takeaway on the ground floor with a two to three-bedroom flat above. The application says: "Once all necessary consents are obtained, the unit will operate as a funeral care director’s branch and there will be no change in floorspace. The Holbury branch of KFC closed more than a year ago. Speaking at the time, a KFC spokesperson said: “We’re constantly reviewing our portfolio of over 1,000 restaurants and, at times, this sadly means we have to close some."
