The fire truck toured various exhibitions, including international showcases, and even served at the Moscow 1980 Olympic Games.
The standard ZIL-131 engine was underpowered for such a massive vehicle.
Today, the rare VMA-30 is in private hands in St. Petersburg, still operational and preserved as a one-of-a-kind piece of firefighting history.
