Silent Hill f reminds me of FromSoft's forgotten J-horror masterpiece
['Claire Lewis']
Polygon - All
When I heard that Silent Hill f would take place in a fictional Japanese town instead of the fictional American one that gave the series its name, I got pretty worried.
Image: FromSoftwareThe main difference between Silent Hill f and Kuon is the combat.
Silent Hill f is a thousand times more forgiving and palatable (maybe a little too palatable), while Kuon is almost guaranteed to make you throw the controller in frustration.
Despite its flaws, Kuon is one of my favorite early 2000s survival horror games, and playing Silent Hill f feels like coming home to my favorite haunted house.
But if you're craving a good hit of J-horror that won't leave you overly frustrated, Silent Hill f will undoubtedly hit the spot.
