DRACUT — Nine Dracut School Department staff members were still unpaid on Wednesday morning, several days after checks were printed thanks to human error and a breakdown in communication between Town Hall and the school system’s business office. Relations between the School Department and Town Hall over this issue became so tense that Town Manager Kate Hodges said she would send the police to get the needed documentation. The School Department was notified of the change and instructed to remove her name from them. The paper checks were created by the payroll system on Sept. 25 and sent to Town Hall for approval. The software that runs the payroll systems for the town and the School Department come from the same company but cannot “talk” to each other.
