Terps superstar Alyssa Thomas, Team USA bring home gold in Women's BasketballFormer Maryland Terps superstar Alyssa Thomas brought home the Olympic gold with the U.S. Women’s Basketball Team on Sunday after their 67-66 win over the French team. Alongside Thea LaFond, who won her gold in track and field’s triple jump earlier in the games, this is the first Olympics where two Maryland athletes have grabbed the gold. In addition to going All-American, she supported the Terrapins to the ACC Championship in 2012, then to the Final Four in 2014. Thomas has played for WNBA’s Connecticut Sun since 2014.
