Last year, Opals coach Sandy Brondello led her WNBA team, the New York Liberty, to their first championship win. Last month, she set the record for the most regular season wins of any coach in the franchise’s 28-year history. The Liberty announced Brondello’s departure on Wednesday after the Liberty were knocked out early in the first round of playoffs last weekend.
