Deputies with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a disturbance on Business 7 North in Abbeville on Sept. 26. During the disturbance, a vehicle was struck, causing damage. The suspect, David Sherwin Haynie, 31, of Abbeville, allegedly caused the disturbance at the residence and was arrested for family disturbance. A warrant was issued for Haynie on Sept. 29 for malicious mischief over $1,000 for allegedly causing damage to the vehicle. Haynie turned himself in to the Lafayette County Detention Center on Sept. 30.
