Appleton schools gathering donations for increased number of students facing homelessness

APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Mountains of donations are stacked up at the Appleton Area School District Welcome Center, all for district students and families facing homelessness.
“This year, we started all of our outreach and we’re already at over 300 students experiencing homelessness,” she said.
At the end of last school year, over 600 students qualified for homelessness support, and according to McGregor, that number will continue to grow.
“I’m hoping to help people and to change people’s day and lives.”The school district is still accepting donations.
