Rabat — Morocco is moving towards digitizing its local shops sector, as the government has signed a partnership with tech startup z.systems. The deal, signed in Sale on Tuesday, aims to transform tens of thousands of neighborhood shops across the country, bringing local retailers into the digital age. The partnership aims to digitize 50,000 smaller, local shops found in neighborhoods by 2030. The company recently raised $1.05 million from prominent Moroccan investors, including MNF Ventures, Witamax, Cash Plus Ventures, and Kalys Ventures. He described integrating local commerce into the digital economy as a strategic step that will strengthen local retailers and protect them against modern market challenges.
