Rangnick spent six months in charge at United, insisting the club ‘needed open-heart surgery (Picture: Getty)Former Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick requires ‘further treatment’ in hospital after picking up an infection following ankle surgery.
Rangnick, who currently serves as the Austria national team boss, has undergone multiple surgeries on his ankle in recent months.
The former United boss has been recovering since those procedures, using an E-bike to get across the pitch during Austria’s World Cup qualifying win over Bosnia and Herzegovina last month.
Rangnick was drafted in as interim United boss following the dismissal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November 2021.
