Trump in Truth Social post after speaking with Zelensky on the sidelines of the gathering with world leaders said he now believes that Ukraine could win back all of its land that Russia has taken. Entering that meeting, which saw the US rolling out the red carpet for Putin, Trump carried the idea that a peace deal could be reached if Ukraine agreed to give up some of its land to Russia. When asked if the US would back its allies in such a scenario, Trump said it ‘depends on the circumstance’.
