A fatal traffic accident occurred just before midnight on Thursday (11.08.2025) on the VOAK motorway in Crete. A 20-year-old foreign national attempted to cross the road and was hit by a vehicle driven by a 21-year-old. Police and an ambulance from EKAV rushed to the scene, but the young woman had already passed away on the asphalt. The 21-year-old driver was arrested, and the investigation into the causes of the accident has been taken over by the Second Station of VOAK Traffic Police.
