The body of Charlie Kirk, the 31-year-old activist who was murdered in Utah, was transported by the U.S. vice-presidential plane, Air Force Two, to Arizona, where he lived with his family. The coffin was escorted onto the aircraft by U.S. Vice President JD Vance and his wife, Usha, who was seen comforting Kirk’s widow, Erika Frantze, as they disembarked. The vice president traveled to Salt Lake City to accompany the coffin and personally helped members of the National Guard carry it to the steps of the Air Force Two at Roland R. Wright Air National Guard Base, which transported the body to Arizona. The funeral will take place next week, with Donald Trump expected to attend. Vance described Kirk as a true friend and ‘the kind of person you can tell something to and know they’ll always remember it.’
