An unusual sight surprised residents of East Hartford, Connecticut, USA: two squirrels appeared… painted pink and blue. Photos published by the municipal animal control service show the small rodents covered from head to tail in bright colors. According to Christine Jard, head of the animal control service in East Hartford, Connecticut, officials are working with a wildlife rehabilitation center to decide the best way to help the animals. The squirrels were found alive and active on the morning of Monday (08.09.2025), but remain painted. The East Hartford Animal Control service urges anyone with information to contact them.
