ADEDEY describes as mockery the measures announced by Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), during a meeting on September 12, 2025, declaring a 24-hour nationwide strike on October 1, 2025. According to ADEDEY’s announcement, the government’s measures are another mockery for the thousands of public sector workers, for whom no raise was announced, aside from a 2% reduction in tax rate, amounting to 100 to 200 euros annually. The strike, already announced by the General Confederation of Workers of Greece (GSEE) for the same day, highlights the common interests of workers in both public and private sectors, making the strike general. The main demands of ADEDEY are: reinstatement of the 13th and 14th salaries and salary increases, collective labor agreements in the public sector, abolition of the new disciplinary code, withdrawal of the bill for a 13-hour workday, and the demand for a 35-hour workweek and five-day workweek for all employees.
