Ahead of tomorrow’s launch of the 24-hour Saturday metro service, Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited the Syntagma metro station today (12.09.2025). The Prime Minister spoke with staff at the control center and thanked transport workers for supporting the extended operating hours on Saturdays, aiming to ensure passenger safety during nighttime. The Athens Urban Transport Organization (OASA) now permanently operates Metro lines 2 and 3, Tram lines T6 and T7, as well as selected bus routes on a 24-hour basis, covering key areas of the city. It also marks a significant step toward upgrading public transport services and promoting Athens as an outward-facing capital. The new service supports tourism, entertainment, and economic activity, reinforcing Athens’ image as a European metropolis.
