Once you’ve unthreaded the defunct spoke’s nipple using the provided Mavic 7-spline spoke tool and tyre lever (an anticlockwise thread, ie clockwise to loosen) you then work the broken or damaged remains of the spoke between the remaining spokes. I was on to my third broken spoke, my third evening removing the entire tubeless system and replacing the tape / sealant along with the defunct spoke. E Deemax S spokes can be had for a few quid each – so even if you end up replacing every single one over the life of a wheel, you’re quids in compared to replacing a whole wheel at half the price but more often.
