After a four-month delay, the North Carolina Baseball Museum’s 23rd annual Celebrity Golf Tournament is set for Wednesday, Sept. 24, at Wedgewood Public Golf Course with clear skies and plenty of sunshine in the forecast. Making his first appearance at the Celebrity Golf Tournament is Tim Federowicz, a former MLB catcher and current manager of the Norfolk Tides, the Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. Federowicz played for five other MLB teams, including a second stint with the Dodgers that ended his career in 2021. And making its first appearance at the event, the Wilson Warbirds minor league baseball club will have one of 32 teams of 3-5 golfers that comprise the event. The Warbirds, formerly the Carolina Mudcats, will begin play as the Class-A Carolina League affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers next spring.
