Troops of the Nigerian Army, working in joint operations with operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), have arrested two men posing as police officers while transporting a massive haul of cannabis in Taraba State. According to a statement issued by Lieutenant Umar Muhammad, Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, the duo were dressed in mobile police uniforms when they were apprehended. Preliminary findings show the drugs were loaded in Akure, Ondo State, and were being transported to Adamawa State,” the statement revealed. The arrests were made under Operation LAFIYA NAKOWA, the ongoing military campaign aimed at flushing out criminals, bandits, and drug traffickers across Taraba State. Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, Commander of the 6 Brigade, commended the troops and NDLEA operatives for their coordination and resilience.
