Peters, a graduate student from Charlotte, N.C., compiled 352 yards of total offense in the Golden Lions’ 24-20 victory over Alcorn State before a crowd of 21,442 at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in Memphis. Peters brought the Golden Lions from behind twice, first throwing a 22-yard touchdown pass to Ellis Stewart late in the second quarter to give UAPB a 17-13 halftime lead. He then scored the game-winning touchdown on a 1-yard touchdown run with 5:39 remaining in the fourth quarter. He finished the day 20-of-32 (63 percent) for 323 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions and rushed for 30 yards and a touchdown.
