Fang says Ottawa should have consulted provincial leaders, experts, and the settlement and business sectors before slashing the province’s immigration allotments. Fang says the average foreign worker is young and highly skilled since immigration programs have age restrictions. Last week the provincial immigration department held virtual information sessions for businesses, labour organizations and community groups to discuss how the changes will impact them.
